Dixie Friend Gay is an acclaimed artist who sculpts, paints, draws, and creates public art. Some commissions include the George Bush Intercontinental Airport, the Port of Miami, Indianapolis International Airport, and Texas A & M Galveston.

Dixie Friend Gay has been recognized by the Americans for the Arts  and received multiple Craftsmanship Awards. She was also honored with the Texas Artist of the Year in 2003 by the Texas Commission for the Arts.
