Mosaic Info
What is mosaic? (Top)
Mosaic is art consisting of a design made of small pieces of colored glass, stone, ceramic or other material. For millennia it has been used as a material of choice to use in creating interior and exterior décor.

Why should I choose mosaic as a finishing material? (Top)
Mosaic is a luxurious surfacing solution, used to create a unique finish that will differentiate any property. Because it’s durable and requires low maintenance, mosaic provides timeless aesthetic solution.

Where can I use mosaic? (Top)
Mosaic has endless applications and can be used indoors and outdoors. Mosaic can be used to finish floors, ceilings, walls, bathrooms, shower, pools, table tops, fireplaces, etc. It is durable enough for high traffic areas. It is versatile enough for wet or dry areas. Because it doesn’t absorb moisture or chemicals it can be used in bathrooms, pools and patios, even fountains.

What maintenance does mosaic require? (Top)
Mosaic is low maintenance. It’s stain resistant and easy to clean, using almost any cleaning agents. While complaints about stained grout are common, it’s often the result of using porous cementitious grout, and/or installers that don’t bother to seal it properly. Artaic uses new modern grout systems, especially Epoxy-based ones, which are extremely stain resistant, and the most exacting installation standards.

Artaic’s Mosaic

What makes Artaic’s mosaic special? (Top)
Artaic is a full service mosaic provider, from concept to installation. We offer virtually unlimited design freedom. Our new proprietary technology allows us to fabricate custom mosaic images in less time and at lower costs than many off-the-shelf patterns from tile manufacturers. Our prices are very competitive.

Are there limitations on size and scope of a project? (Top)
Artaic can do projects of any size and unlimited scope. The minimum project size is generally 250 sq.ft, but may be determined on a case-by-case basis.

What materials does Artaic offer to create mosaic? (Top)
Material. Artaic offers the broadest selection of tile produced. Glass, porcelain, ceramic, and stone. Special requests for wood, leather, or metal can be considered.
Color. We offer the most comprehensive color sets available worldwide. In some materials we offer over 200 colors.
Size. Mosaic tiles range in size from 1/4” to 1” units. We excel at the smaller size tiles that offer higher artistic detail, because our robotic production becomes more cost-effective vs. hand assembly.
Geometry: Artaic mosaics use square tiles. For an additional charge, we can hand cut some of the tiles to create sharp image edges or other effects.
Backlit: Artaic has exclusive backlit technology available on any project, easily installed, that illuminates the mosaic for unique and powerful effect.

Design and Fabrication Process

What are the steps from an idea to the installation? (Top)
1. The customer supplies their inspiration in just about any form, such as a photo, a drawing, a piece of fine art, fabric, or even just an idea.
2. Artaic artists create a custom mosaic image from the source of inspiration then work with the client to view, enhance and modify the mosaic design until their desired artwork is achieved.
3. Artaic designers work with the client to choose the proper tile material for the project from Artaic's vast library of tile sources from all over the world.
4. Artaic's patented robotic system assembles square foot sections of mosaic. It reproduces the image by picking and placing thousands of tiny colored tiles.
5. The Mosaic sections are shipped to the client's location for installation to form the completed mosaic image.

Can you create murals or patterns from the art I will provide? (Top)
Yes. Our designers can work with any form of inspiration, such as photos, drawings, fine art, or even a piece of fabric. We’ll digitize your picture and our robot will reproduce any imagery you want. Just give us any form of inspiration to get started.

Can you help me with my mosaic design? (Top)
Yes. Artaic’s artists offer a broad range of design styles including photorealistic, abstract, impressionistic, and illustrative. We work with a number of renowned artists and can commission a unique design.

How long it does take to fabricate mosaic images? (Top)
We can create spectacular scale projects (up to 50,000 sq.ft. or more) in record time. Fabrication time is usually just a few weeks vs. the industry norms of 3 to 6 months. Smaller scale projects can be accomplished in a matter of days.

Can you provide a sample? (Top)
Yes. We have a broad collection of generic samples. Even better, you can order a custom sample for your project through our representative or website. When you decide to order mosaic from us, we will fabricate custom digital and physical samples for your review.

Who is going to create mosaic and install it? (Top)
Artaic provides a turnkey solution for your project. We can use any art you’ve selected or can help you to create a custom mosaic image. We’ll fabricate your mosaic, and can also install it.

How and Where Can I Buy Mosaic from Artaic?

Can I buy your mosaic in a store or online? (Top)
No. Our mosaic is exclusive and every piece is custom made. You need to contact one of our representatives, or us directly, for a consultation.

How much does it cost and who is going to do the estimates? (Top)
The overall cost will depend on the scale of your project, source of your art, materials used to fabricate the mosaic, design work required, and installation details. Our representative will provide you with a comprehensive estimate after speaking with you in depth about your project. Typically, the total cost, not including installation, ranges from $150 to $225 per sq.ft. which would include expert consultation, design from available source art, materials and fabrication. Commissioning custom art work would be additional.

How can I work with Artaic if I don’t have a representative in my area? (Top)
Artaic will assign a representative to work with you closely on your project no matter where you are.

What are the shipping terms? (Top)
We can ship by any method based on the time constraints and cost considerations of your individual project. Estimated ground shipping costs are $ 0.75 per sq.ft within the contiguous USA.  For international destinations shipping cost may vary. You are also welcome to arrange your own shipping. Mosaic weighs roughly 2 lbs per sq.ft.

Who is going to install the mosaic? (Top)
We recommend using Artaic certified professional installers, to ensure the highest quality. However, you are free to have your Mosaic installed by an independent contractor of your choice. Installation generally runs about $15-$40 per sq.ft., depending in part on the space and location. We’re pleased to provide a specific estimate for your project, and our rates are competitive.

How long does it take? (Top)
Using our robotic production, Artaic can fabricate in days what takes other companies months to produce. We can have your project designed, fabricated and installed in as little as three weeks.
